Mrs. Hannah Baker Knapp, a pioneer of Madison County, died at her home In Green Garden Wednesday evening. She was born at Hanover, Germany, Sept. 13, 1839, and came to America with her parent in 1847. She was married to Phillip Knapp near Joliet, Illinois, March 26, 1987 and they came to Nebraska in 1871 settling on a homestead in Green Garden, where they resided until 1891 when they removed to Madison, where Mr. Knapp died in 1904. She Is survived by a number of children, Mrs. Elizabeth Earnhardt of Norfolk, Mrs. Katherine Gross, Mrs. Anna Reeg and John Knapp of Green Garden, John Knapp of Battle Creek and Carl Knapp of Madison. The funeral will take place Saturday morning at 10:00 o'clock at the home and later at the Lutheran church at Green Garden. Interment will be in the Green Garden Lutheran cemetery.
