Sean Sellers was put to death by lethal injection for murdering Robert Bower on Sept. 8, 1985, and his mother and step-father, Paul and Vonda Bellofatto, on March 5, 1986. Sellers committed the crime at the age of 16, and claimed he was a practicing Satanist, possessed by demons. While in prison he became a Christian and appeared on numerous television shows. Appeals were made, including a claim he was mentally ill and possibly suffering from multiple personality disorder. Before his execution he did not mention his mother or apologize for what he had done. His last words were from a Christian song. He remains the only person put to death for a crime committed under the age of 17. He was the son of Richard C. Sellers and Vonda Blackwell.
