Gary Kent Albin, 62, of McKeesport, formerly of Clairton, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013. He was born Dec. 20, 1950, in McKeesport, and was the son of the late John H. and Verna Opfer Albin Kosar.
He was a Marine Corps veteran and was assigned to Marine Corps Air Station in Cherry Point, N.C., where his specialty was aviation armament systems of the A6 Intruder. Over the years he was employed by local companies including WABCO and Dura-bond as well as Boeing Corporation Louisiana.
He is survived by children, Courtney Albin, of Glassport, and Jon (Jessica) Albin, of Pearland, Texas; grandchildren, Joshua, Madison, Kyla Brooke and Jacob; siblings; Floyd Albin, of Forward Township, and Karen Spiedel, of Pleasant Hills. He was preceded in death by siblings, Ronald and John "Butch" Albin.
Friends will be receive from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at HUNTER-EDMUNDSON-STRIFFLER FUNERAL HOME, 600 Market St., McKeesport, PA 15132 (412-678-6191). Services will be held at noon Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Charles Owston officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors.
