Connie Louise Adkins Griggs, age 53, of Justin Drive, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
She was born July 15, 1959, in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of Wilburn Adkins of Morehead, Kentucky, and the late Maude Caudill Adkins.
In addition to her father, Connie is survived by her husband, Danny Dale Griggs, whom she married June 2, 1977; one son, Tony Griggs of Morehead, Kentucky; two daughters, Laura Griggs Davis and husband Justin of Farmers, Kentucky, and Tammie Mae Griggs of North Carolina; four grandchildren, including a special grandson, Hunter Wallace.
Also surviving are two brothers, Kenneth Ray Adkins and wife Mable of Morehead, Kentucky, and James Ronnie Adkins and wife Mary of Clearfield, Kentucky; nieces and nephews; other family members; and her beloved pet, Annie.
In addition to being a homemaker, Connie was a Unit Secretary at St. Claire Regional Medical Center for more than 15 years. She and Danny were foster parents for 7 years and also adoptive parents. Connie was an avid churchgoer and member of Farmers Christian Church.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Bill Teegarden officiating. Burial will be in the Griggs Cemetery in Olympia, Kentucky.
Pallbearers: Brian Riddle, David Riddle, Jason Curtis, Jerry Griggs, Chris Hamm, and Cody Davis.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
