Amelia was married 3 times. Her first husband was James L Montgomery who she married in 1850 in Westfield, New York. They had 6 children as they moved west , first to Wisconsin, then to Kansas where their youngest son was born and James died around 1870. Amelia then married Samuel Dobbins in 1875 in Douglas county, Kansas. He died in Baldwin City, Kansas in 1879. In 1892, still in Douglas county, KS she married John Stewart. After his death in 1903 she moved to Los Angeles where members of her family already were and there lived her final years.
