His father was Thomas J. Davis, as seen in 1850 census. His father Thomas J Davis was dead by 1860, but his mom lived on a couple more decades according to census records.
Another Thomas DAVIS, buried in the Johnson County Cemetery, lived in neighboring Barry CO MO, and although he too had a wife named Elizabeth, you can see when you compare 1850 census, they are different men, with the same name, age and wives name - but different children. I am descended from his son Alexander.
There has been a lot of confusion on these 2 Thomas DAVIS men due to so many similarities. I will be happy to share some information I have on the two men and their families...Best - Carri #47108144
