Funeral for Luther Don Ryan, 60, of Athens, formerly of Decatur, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with Ralph Stout and Jimmy Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Ryan died Wednesday, March 4, 1998, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born March 24, 1937, in Decatur to Alvin Luther Ryan and Ruby Palmer Ryan. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was retired from Wolverine Tube, where he worked as an overhead crane operator, and was the former owner of Ryan's Minnow Pool on Sixth Avenue Southeast.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Davenport Ryan; two daughters, Angela Jackson Tillman of Huntsville and Donna Leigh Fender of Houston, Texas; one brother, James Rolland Ryan of Huntsville; and six grandchildren.
