Edith Edna Kniffen Roberts, 93, was the last surviving child of seven born to George Ed and Maggie Kniffen on September 17, 1919. She went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 16, 2013 in Abilene, Texas.
She married Alvah Cole Roberts, Jr. in 1938. He preceded her in death in 1974. Edna retired at age 65 after 27 years at Abilene State School.
She is survived by her three children, Melissa (husband John) Rudd, Jimmy (wife Paula) Roberts, and Patricia (husband Gordon) Payne; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Girdner Funeral Home. Graveside rites will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of Girdner Funeral Home of Abilene.
