According to the 1880 census he was 15 years old, born Ohio, and worked in a tobacco factory. At that time he lived in Cleveland, Ohio with his parents. The 1900 census states he was born January 1865 in Ohio and worked as a cigar maker. At that time he lived in Omaha, Nebr. with his mother and brother Joseph. According to his burial card he was born in Cleveland, Ohio, died of consumption on September 20, 1900, age 36 years, and was buried September 22 in St. Mary's cemetery following services at Holy Family Catholic church.
