Mrs. Rachel E. Jorgensen of Salt Lake City, widow of John G. Jorgensen, formerly of Richfield, passed away peacefully Saturday after a very short illness and the body was shipped to Richfield for funeral services and return to earth in native soil. A worthy woman a devoted church worker and always beloved and respected member of society wherever she associated. Mrs. Jorgensen will be deeply mourned not only by the immediate family but by everybody who knew her.
Rachel E. Jorgensen was born May 14, 1876 in Ephraim, Utah the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. DeLange of that place. In May 1891 she married John G. Jorgensen, then of Koosharem and with him she came to Richfield where the couple lived in happy union for many years. Mr. Jorgensen died twelve years ago and several of the children living in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Jorgensen for the past years was a Salt Lake resident to be near to them.
The survivors are the following children: Percival E. Jorgensen of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Henry E. Christensen of Richfield, E. Claron and John N. Jorgensen of Salt Lake City, Mrs. D. Byron Jensen of Salt Lake City and Dee Jorgensen of Richfield, also six grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: J. F. DeLange of Koosharem, John DeLange of Provo, George DeLange of Long Beach, California, Mrs. J. A. Jorgensen of Richfield, Mrs. Sisson Hatch of Koosharem, Mrs. George Williams of Emery and Mrs. Joseph Wright of Richfield.
Funeral services are arranged for on Wednesday afternoon in the First ward chapel.
