Mr. Brownlow died Friday, June 24, 2005, in Lubbock. He was born July 20, 1932, in Cottle County. He grew up and graduated from high school in Paducah. He served in the U.S. Air Force and later moved to the Lubbock area. He worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years in Paducah, Lubbock, and Austin. He married Mabel Ann Bownds on September 13, 1975.
Two sisters and one brother preceded Johnny in death.
Survivors include: his wife of 30 years, Mabel Ann Brownlow; two daughters, Jonyce Putman and husband, Mark of Lubbock, and Andrea Ramirez and husband, Mike of Austin; two step-sons, Gary Voyles and wife, Martha of Lubbock, and Rusty Voyles of Austin; step-daughter, Sandra Merritt of San Francisco, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren.
