Charlotte was sometimes called "Lottie" and was the daughter of Eliza Caroline Smith Hutson and Dr. Thomas Woodward (T.W.) Hutson, Jr.. She was married to Benjamin Webb Martin and had four children, William Galt Martin, who moved to Texas, Dr.Thomas Hutson Martin 'Hutson", who practiced medicine in Charleston, John McLeod Martin who was an accountant for the railroad in Savannah and Charlotte NC, and Caroline Hutson Martin who married Thomas Jackson Arnold who was a nephew of Stonewall Jackson. Caroline and her husband were missionaries to Africa and she is buried here.
