Willie Allen, age 73, a longtime resident of New Lebanon, OH, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2003 after a lengthy illness with heart fibrosis and emphsem problems. Willie had worked for Delco Air for over 25 years and had sold Mason Shoes for much of his life. He also was proud to have been a Veteran of both WWII, the Korean War and a member of the New Lebanon American Legion. Willie enjoyed the times he sang and played his guitar. He was a member of the OKI Bluegrass Assoc.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane, in 1982. Also preceded in death by his brothers, Leaburn, Shelby and Chester "Chet" Allen, sisters, Myrtle Howard-Foust, Martha Allen and a brother-in-law, Carl Spencer.
Survivors include his special friend and caregiver Nancy Crolley; brother Walter Allen of Jackson; sisters Roby (Clinton) Banks, Nellie Allen and Lula Deaton all of Jackson; Dora (Larry) Clark of Greenfield, IN and many more dear nieces, nephews and relatives.
Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Rogers' Funeral Home, New Lebanon, OH with Rev. Larry Grunden presiding.
