Dr. Ernest G. Lewis was an assistant professor of economics at Baylor University. He was at his home in Hubbard for the holidays when he was taken ill. He died in Waco with pneumonia. Services were held in the Methodist Church in Hubbard. Dr. Lewis received his public education at Hubbard, then took his A.B. and M.A. degrees from the University of Texas and received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Illinois. He had taught at the University of Texas and the public schools of Texas before going to Baylor in the fall of 1934. Survived by his parents; Judge L.B. Lewis of Baird, five other brothers, and one sister - Miss Eula May Lewis.
