The son of Benjamin & Mary (Booth) Brooks, he married Ann Sherwood on September 5, 1738 in Stratford, Conn. He was executor of his father's estate along with his brother, David. He was representative for Stratford to the Gen. Court in Hartford between 1771 and 1774.
