DIED--Of dropsy, near Westerville, Decatur County, Iowa, June ll, l888,
MR. LAFAYETTE BRAMMER, aged 4l years, 7 months and l4 days.
MR. BRAMMER was born November 27, l846, in Jackson County, Indiana.
Came to Decatur County in l855 and has been a resident of the county
ever since. In time of the nation's peril he went to the rescue. He
enlisted in Co. E 30th Iowa Infantry Vol., served three years during the
war, then enlisted in the regular army and served three years during
which he contracted the disease that finally proved fatal. December 29,
l874, he married MISS CATHARINE FOLAND, who is now left to mourn the
loss of a faithful husband.
MR. BRAMMER was a member of the I.O.O.F. at Grand River. He was also a member of the G.A.R Post at Grand River. He was buried by the Grand
River Lodge of I.O.O.F. He was a man beloved by all who knew him.
The funeral services were conducted by the writer at the home of the
deceased in the presence of a large congregation, after which we laid
him away in the Young Cemetery to await the resurrection morn.
