WELLMAN - Leslie Tulare Arieux was born April 4, 1955 in Ottumwa, Iowa the daughter of Dr. Harry D. and Marilyn (Morse) McCreedy. She graduated from Davis County High School and Iowa State University. On April 16, 1977 she was united in marriage to David Arieux in Ottumwa. They have lived in rural Wellman since September of 1981. Leslie most recently worked at Farmers Supply in Kalona. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church where she served on Parish Council, and played the organ and sang in the choir. She was a member of PEO, ALC, Chi Omega Sorority, and a former member of Sweet Adelines. She was a 4H leader for the Lime Creek Limelights, and she served as secretary for the Mid-Prairie Community School District Foundation for many years. Leslie was a proud Cyclone fan and supporter, and a Wonderful wife,mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed reading, music, stamping cards, decorating, and watching college sports. Leslie died on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 58 years. Leslie is survived by her husband David of Wellman; three children Jared Arieux and wife Jessica of Oxford; Laurie Keller and husband Paul of St. Peters, Missouri; Vicki Arieux and friend Seth Foley of Minneapolis; a grandson Beckett Arieux; four siblings Barb Foss and husband Craig of Fairfield; David McCreedy and wife Chris of Albany, Oregon; Vicki Wilfawn and husband Mike of Kansas City, Missouri; Tom McCreedy of Drakesville; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2013 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wellman, Rev. David Brownfield, Phd will officiate. Burial will be in the Wellman Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman where the family will greet friends from 3-7 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
