Mr Coer was born 1 Jan 1930, son of the late Harold K and Lillian Coer Sr. He lived for many years in Cheshire and Waterbury.
He attended Cheshire grammar schools and was a graduate of the former Leavenworth High School of Waterbury.
He worked at the Southbury Training School for many years, before his retirement. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and did volunteer work for VNA Hospice Health Care of Greater Waterbury.
He leaves two sons, Harold K Coer III of Watertown and Marc D Coer of Waterbury; two daughters, Deborah A DiLonardo of Waterbury and Sarita I Currier of Watertown; twin brothers Raymond E Coer of Southington and Robert A Coer of Lake Ariel, PA.; three sisters, Eleanor Charland of Watertown, Margaret Mazeika of Oakville and Louise Donlan of Pomona NJ; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
