Mrs. Tapley was born on September 23, 1919 in Tallapoosa County. She was a member of New Pine Grove Baptist Church. Her husband, Grady Tapley; one son, Wendel Tapley, and one daughter, Martha Jean Williams, preceded her in death. She is survived by three sons: Nelson (Mary Glenn) Tapley, of Alexander City, Troy (Jodean) Tapley of Wetumpka, and Frank (Betty) Tapley of Alexander City; two daughters, Lurlene Tapley of Alexander City, and Cheryl Loften of Pervis, MS; two sisters: Jewel Fomby and Merle Schubert, both of Alexander City, nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
