FAg MEMBER SAID THAT THERE IS NO STONE THAT EXISTS.Probably baptized Tiverton, Devonshire, 5 January 1590/1. Merchant from Exeter, Devonshire who came to Massachusetts Bay in 1633. First sattled in Dorchester; moved to Boston in 1634. Died in Boston 27 April 1658.
Married: (1) St. Mary Arches, Exeter, Devonshire, 26 January 1619/20 Mary Jourdaine, baptized St. Mary Arches 5 April 1595, daughter of Ignatius Jourdaine; she died before 1634, probably in England.
(2) By 1634 Anne _____; "Anne Cogan the wife of John Cogan" was admitted to Boston church 27 July 1634; she died after 1639, when her second child was born.
(3) After 1639 and before 1652 Mary _____; she died Boston 14 January 1651/2.
(4) Boston 10 March 1651/2 "Mrs. Martha Winthrop;" she was Martha Rainsborough, widow successively of Thomas Coytmore and JOHN WINTHROP; she died about 24 October 1660 under "circumstances ... not without suspicion of poison."
