He was born in Gratz, PA on Dec. 4, 1929 the son of the late Elmer and Luma Hartman Bellis.
He retired from Bethlehem Steel and then worked locally as a carpenter.
Bob was a member of Gratz VFW, Erdman Sportsmen Assoc., Millersburg VFW, Millersburg Moose Lodge #59, Millersburg Legion, Dalmatia Fire Co.
He enjoyed putting on pig roasts, hunting, fishing and gardening and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife Thelma Spotts Bellis, three sons Larry and his wife Deanna, Dennis and his wife Jill both of Millersburg and Fred and his fiance Kim Thayer of Elizabethtown, a daughter Jeanne Troutman and her husband Jere of Millersburg, 10 Grandchildren, 21 Great grandchildren, two brothers Blair of Duncannon and Mark of Millersburg, 8 sisters Hilda Collier, June Messner, Bette Heiser all of Millersburg, Mabel Weida of Elizabethville, Esther Schaffner of Dalmatia, Dorothy Wiest of Halifax, Marian Memory of Tampa, FL and Donna Koppenheffer of Harrisburg. He was preceded in death by his siblings Charles, Lloyd, James, Anna Ayers, Lillian Sitlinger and Mary Bellis.
There will be a viewing from 9:30 to 11 am on Saturday, June 15 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Millersburg. Services will begin at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Halifax. Memorial donations may be made to his church at 324 North St., Millersburg or to the Millersburg Ambulance Assoc., PO Box 72, Millersburg, PA 17061.
