June Davenport Stump Campbell, 90, Johnson City, passed away Saturday evening December 15, 2012.
She resided with her son Rockne L. Stump for 10 years before moving to NHC Nursing Home of Johnson City in December 2011. Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her parents Bert and Novella Davenport, husbands Elbert T. Stump, Jr., and Paul R. Campbell, son Gary L. Stump and brother Harvey C. Davenport.
She is survived by her son Rockne of Limestone TN, a sister Mildred Friesland of Roanoke VA, daughter in-law Mrs. Penny (Gary) Stump of Florida, sister in-law Mrs. Chris (Harvey) Davenport of Florida, grand-daughter LeAnna Harrison of Limestone TN, two great grand-daughters Victoria and Caroline Harrison both of Limestone TN, two grandsons Matt and Eric Stump of Florida, niece Vicky Childress and nephew Terry Friesland of Roanoke VA.
Mrs. Campbell was a graduate of Science Hill High School, 1940, and a member of "The School Marching Band." Mrs. Campbell was employed by The Appalachian Hospital of Johnson City as an admitting clerk for several years and for Dr. Rutledge Miller and Dr. Burgin E. Dossett Jr. for several years. Upon moving to Florida, she worked for Zale's Jewelry Store in St. Petersburg, FL for eight years. She then returned to Johnson City and retired in 1987 from Zale's Jewelry after 22 years of service as an office manager. Mrs. Campbell was of the Methodist faith.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 6:30 PM; Thursday, December 20, 2012 with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services, Johnson City, TN. Reverend Dan Foster will officiate.
