MRS. J.E. MOOTY, 94, PASSES IN WEDOWEE; BURIED AT FRANKLIN

Last week's News and Banner carried a notice of the illness of Mrs. J.E.Mooty, 94, and while the paper was being printed notice was received of the dear old matriarch's death, with advice of funeral and interment at Franklin, where her lamented husband also rests. Mrs. Mooty was a native of Heard County and resided here all her life until the death of her husband when she went to Wedowee to reside with her two widowed daughters there. She was a member of the Franklin Methodist Church to which she was a regular contributor, though unable to attend for several years. The impressive
funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.A. Adams. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Viola Davis, Stone Mountain, GA.; Mrs. Ellen Enloe and Mrs. Lena McDonald, of Wedowee, Ala.; Mrs. H.N. Awbrey of Columbus, GA.; and Mrs.Sam Stephens, Franklin, GA.; two sons, Dr. R. H. Mooty and Mr. Bob Mooty, WInter Haven, Fla. There are also 20 grandchildren, 20 great grandchldren.

Judge James C. Davis, nominee for Congress in the Fifth Georgia District is her grandson.
