Nancy was born in Munger, Texas, to the late John Thomas Bunch and Hattie Gertrude Crenshaw Bunch. They were farmers in the Mexia area. She met Billie S. Daniel from Dawson and they married on January 5, 1932, in Dawson. They moved to San Angelo shortly thereafter along with sisters and brothers-in-laws, to farm. Nancy and Billie settled in the Eola area. They bought land for $.50 an acre and then the drought hit the area farmers and they sold for $1.00 an acre and moved to San Angelo.
Billie took a job for the City of San Angelo and became a fireman until his retirement after 32 years. Nancy went to work at Monarch Tile Company and retired after 20 years. In 1982, they celebrated 50 wonderful years together at the Museum in Dawson, Texas. Firemen and their wives and families came from all over Texas to celebrate with them. Nancy was a funny and a courageous Lady/Mother.
Her antics, especially during holiday get togethers, leave her family and friends, with wonderful memories. Nancy never met a stranger. When she moved to Big Lake with her daughter, Nancy and family, she was known and loved by everyone in this small West Texas town. She was called by her grandchildren, Nanny "Doolie". Therefore everyone in Texas knew her by "Doolie", which was a nickname given by her father. Her memory will live on and her family is happy to have had her all these years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie S. Daniel; sisters, Laura May Kimbrall, Lillie Faye Harrison, and Narcy Frances Crisp; brothers, Roy Thomas Bunch, Melvin Perry "Tince" Bunch, and Johnnie Earl Bunch; granddaughter Susan Diane Cozart; and much loved son-in-law, Jack Lackey.
Survivors include son, Billy Roy Daniel, of San Angelo; daughters, Norma Jean Lackey, of Round Rock, and Nancy Jo Jackson and husband, Joe, of Big Lake; grandchildren, Michael Lackey, of Spicewood, Kim Danielle Lackey Hyatt and husband, Rodney, of Leander, Jayne Ann Lackey Kraatz and husband, Robin, of Decatur, Daniel Scott Jackson and wife, Tracy, of Big Lake, Joe S Jackson Jr. and Crystal Quinney, of Big Lake, Texas; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Ryan Hyatt and wife, Erin, of Cedar Park, Kate Danielle Hyatt, of Leander, Carson Cole Pardue, of Odessa, Carley Jo Jackson, Brady Thomas Jackson, both of Big Lake, and Madelyn Faith Kraatz, of Decatur; great-great-grandchild, Rowan Emory Hyatt, of Cedar Park; and many cousins, nieces and nephews, including niece, Belle Irwin, of Granbury.
