Janelle born in Bell County, Texas, to the late William "Hi" and Margaret Ann Dunlap. She married Jack H. Burson on October 3, 1953 at Salado. Her working career began at the Stage Coach Inn at Salado and then Griggs Equipment. She served as the Bell County Tax Assessor/Collector and then later owned her own antique store in Salado. She was a Master Gardner, member of the Belton Rotary Club, and a member of the Youngsport Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Jack Burson, of Salado; daughter, Mary Jo Unger and husband, Benjy, of Salado; son, Jackie Burson and wife, Janet, of Salado; grandchildren, Lance Unger, Ashley Unger, Megan Burson, and Jamie Burson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
