STONEY CREEK — Mrs. Ruth Black Hunt, age 85, of Woolwine Court, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013, at Ashton Place.

A native of New Hanover County, she was the wife of the late Joseph Wilson Hunt and daughter of the late Harrison Eli and Julia Myrtle Black Black. She was a member of Heidelburg United Church of Christ in Thomasville and a volunteer with Cooperative Community Ministry.

Mrs. Hunt is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ann Hunt Smith and husband Donald J. Smith and Kay Hunt Eddinger and husband Jeff Eddinger of Thomasville; three grandchildren, Kathryn Smith Coiro and husband John, Jennifer Brackett and husband Jeramy and Amanda Collett and husband John; great-grandchildren, Kaelyn and Kenan Brackett.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2013, at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville by Rev. Paul Rhodes.

The family would like to thank Carlene Nixon and Hospice of Alamance-Caswell for the special care and support given their mother during her illness.
