Services for Avinel Sitter Pounds of Ransom Canyon will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013 in Englunds Chapel. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. Thursday at Center Plains Cemetery in Center Plains, Texas under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Sitter was born in Liberty Hill on Feb. 24, 1926. She went into the arms of our Lord on June 10, 2013. Sitter moved to the Hart Camp community in 1927. She graduated from Spade High School in 1944. She married Thomas R. Cannon in 1944 and he preceded her in death in 1964. She was a cotton farmer and homemaker. Sitter later married L. V. Rastus Pounds in 1981 in Acuff. Rastus preceded her in death in 1995. Her survivors include her daughters, Judy Christian and Connie Bowman; stepson, Pat Pounds; brother, Kruger Johnson; along with eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. There is a family visitation at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. The family suggests memorials to American Diabetic Association or American Heart Association .
