FUNERALS FOR FOUR WORLD WAR II SOLDIERS SLATED HERE FRIDAY
Military funeral services for four World War II soldiers will be held Friday at National Cemetery under direction of Edwards Funeral Home. At 10 a.m. a service will be held for Private First Class James R. Cunningham, whose father lives at Tazwell, Va.
Immediately following, at 11 a.m., funeral service for PRIVATE FIRST CLASS WALTER STANDRIDGE of Opal, Ark., will be held. Standridge is survived by his mother, Mrs. Walter Standridge of Opal.
Funeral service for Private First Class Glen R. Ritter, Route 1, Spiro, Okla., will be held at 1 p.m. Private Ritter is survived by his wife, Beatrice, of Spiro.
Funeral service for Sergeant L. Link, 22 years old, who was killed in action April 12, 1945, in Germany, will be held at 2 p.m. He was a native of Bartlesville, Okla., and enlisted in the army in September, 1940. After spending 18 months in the Aleutians he was sent to the European theatre of war.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Clara L. Bassham, Vicksburg, Miss.; four half-sisters, Mrts. Irene Fields, Richmond, Texas, Miss Fern Bassham, Miss Mary K. Bassham and Miss Nancy R. Bassham, all of Vicksburg; and two brothers, Jerry Link of Fort Smith and Bob Link of Vicksburg.
