HARPER-Alice Elizabeth Redlinger was born on November 23, 1919 near East Pleasant Plain, IA, the daughter of Michael E. and Gertrude Elizabeth Arndt Fritz. She grew up in the East Pleasant Plain community and graduated from Brighton High School. She attended Parson's College in Fairfield where she received her Teaching Certificate. Alice taught 5 years in rural schools. On June 15, 1943, she was united in marriage to Bernard Michael Redlinger at St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain. After their marriage they made their home in the Harper, IA community. Alice was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Harper, was active in the Altar & Rosary Society, where she served as President and Secretary and was a church officer. She cherished her family and enjoyed gardening. Alice became a resident of Maplewood Manor in Keota, just three weeks before her death. She died at Maplewood Manor following a short illness on Saturday, October 23, 2004. She lived 84 years and 11 months.She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers Richard and John Fritz. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at Holy Trinity Parish-St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Harper with The Rev. Marty Goetz officiating. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Harper. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota. A Christian wake service will be held at 7:00 PM. A memorial fund has been established for the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association and Maplewood Manor.
