She was a native of Humboldt but had lived in Johnson City since 1932. She was a daughter of the late John T. and Cornelia Crawley Warren.
Mrs. Blackard was a member of Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church, where her husband Dr. W. F. Blackard, associate pastor, began serving as pastor in 1932. She was a member of United Methodist Women.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of Daughters of the American Colonists.
Mrs. Blackard was also a member of a local book club.
Survivors in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Mrs. Louise Blackard Wexler, Johnson City, and Mrs. Warren Blackard Meadows, Columbia, S.C.; four grandchildren, Steven Blackard Meadows, Atlanta, Valerie Meadows Wooten, Chapin, S.C., Eloise Wexler Puissesseau, Boca Raton, Fla., and Lisa Wexler Birch, Savannah, Ga.; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
