Hazel Phillips Boone, age 83, of Biggerstaff Road in Spruce Pine, died Saturday June 8, 2013 at Brian Center Health and Rehab in Spruce Pine.
Born on March 30, 1930 in Avery County, she was the daughter of the late Gaither and Ada Carpenter Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank H. Boone. She was also preceded in death by her brothers; Howard, Harold, Herman, Hayne, Harry, and Ray Phillips and her sister; Helen McClellan.
Mrs. Hazel Boone was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Spruce Pine and retired from the office of Dr. Ken Lentz where she served as the receptionist.
The funeral services for Ms. Hazel Boone will be conducted on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Spruce Pine. Interment will follow in the Spruce Pine Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 pm until 2 pm at the church
