Rev. Frank Wilson Black, 88, widower of Nannie Marie (Medford) Black, of Anderson, SC, died Saturday, June 18, 2005 after a long illness.

Born November 25, 1916, he was a son of the late William Walker Black and Josephine (Rochester) Black.

He was a retired minister of the Church of God having served as a pastor for 47 years and was a member of the Homeland Park Church of God in Anderson.

Surviving are a daughter, Janice B. Ash and husband Martin R. of Anderson, two sons, Stephen R. Black and wife Jeanette of Jonesboro, GA, and Earl W. Black and wife Teresa of Iva; a sister, Virginia Carter of Union; two brothers, Ray Black of Gaffney and Dean Black of Apple Valley, CA; nine grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Services were held 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Roy Puckett. Burial was in Fairforest Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2005 at Holcombe Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Bro. Bennefield, Ricky Black, Ray Medford, Seth Ash and Andrew Ash.
