William J. Crosser, Sr. 70, of Northwood, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at his home. He was born in Toledo on January 3, 1943 to Donald and Elizabeth (Miko) Crosser. Bill was a 1961 graduate of Olney High School and served our country in the U.S. Army from 1961-1964.

For over 16 years, he worked as a machine operator for Champion Spark Plug and after the plant closing returned to Toledo University where he graduated with his associate's degree in 1991. He then worked for 14 years as a courier in the transportation department for Mercy-St. Vincent Medical Center retiring in 2008. He was active in his Northwood community working for 12 years as Dog Warden, a volunteer firefighter and a coach for the Willie Mays Baseball Club. He was an avid OSU Fan and enjoyed watching anything on TV that had a ball, a puck, umpire or referee in it; but most of all adored his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by and will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 51 years, Carol (Good) Crosser; daughters, Paula (Ronnie) Hyder and Rebecca (Jim) Burch; son, William J. (Pamela) Crosser, Jr.; grandchildren, Mandy (Brad) Cufr, Emily (Matt) Hyder-Jasinski, Allison, Jessica and Joseph Burch and Bryan Kahl; great-grandchildren, Toby and Ruby Cufr; sister, Patricia Belknap; and brothers, Donald R. (Joanna) Crosser and Steve (Diann) Crosser along with many dear nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Terry Crosser.

Family and friends may visit from 3-8 on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 in the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd., Oregon, where the funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday. Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery.
