He married Hattie M Curtiss on Oct 7 1903 in Livingston County, Illinois, where he was a university professor. He & his wife had no children. They moved to Beaver, Mahoning, Ohio before 1910, where he was a physician in private practice until he died.

"Nov. 14-Funeral rites for Dr. Albertus H. Alden, aged 83, were held Monday afternoon in Fry Funeral Home at Columbiana, with Dr. L. J. Baker and Rev. O. J. Zechiel officiating. Interment was made at Forest Lawn cemetery. Dr. Alden died Friday at his residence. He was born in Middlefield, Ohio, Dec. 22, 1867, a son of Edward and Hercey (Dunham) Alden. He came here in 1904 and practiced his profession continuously until last September, when he was taken ill. Dr. Alden was a graduate of Hiram high school and College, and of the Medical School of Western Reserve of the Mahoning Medical Society and Mount Olivet Evangelical and Reformed church. He leaves his wife, the former Hattie Curtiss, three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Green of Mantua, Miss Emily and Miss Hercey, both of Hiram."
