John Edward Hohman was born Dec. 10, 1882, at Longwood, Nebraska, and died June 21, 1921. He moved with his parents in the spring of 1894 after living here for some time, they went west and made their home in Colorado. He was married in 1905 to Miss Maud Metzer and to this union 2 children were born, a girl who is with her mother in Idaho and a boy who makes his home here with his aunt, Mrs. Emelia Shanks, besides he leaves 3 sisters and two half-sisters to mourn his loss; Mrs. Nettie Shanks of Yakima, Washington and Mrs. Clare Smith of Brooklyn, New York, Mrs. Pearle Zierlein of Lomax, Nebraska, Mrs. Bessie Murray of Arcadia, Nebraska and Mrs. Edelia Shanks of Comstock at whose home he died after being in poor health for some time. Interment was at the family lot at Longwood Cemetery.
The card of thanks was signed by Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Shanks and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Zierlein and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Murray and family.
Mrs. Emilia (Hohman) Shanks obituary says she made a home for Mylo and Louise Hohman, her nephew and niece. These would have been the children of John E. Hohman who died in 1921.
