Berthalee Saunders, daughter of Fred and Bertha Bichel Rachow, married Uriah Saunders, was a housewife, lived at 808 West Main, Kelso, WA, died in rural Lewis & Clark County, 300 yards east of Mullen Tunnel, in an airplane crash, per death certificate, whose informant was Thomas Shay. Buried Aug 28 1954.

Mrs. Berthalee Saunders, 46, 808 W. Main Street, Kelso, was killed in an airplane crash Aug. 26, near Helena, MT. She was born July 18, 1908, in Lostine, OR.

She was a graduate of Kelso High School. She was a member of the Daughters of Nile, Longview Country Club, Longview Eastern Star, Ladies of the Elks, and Eagles Auxiliary.

Surviving are her father, Frederick Rachow, Longview; three sisters, Mrs. Winifred Majors, Grande Ronde, OR, Mrs. Ursula Griffin, Crescent City, CA, and Mrs. Amanda Majors, Carson, WA; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 am Wednesday at Longview Community Church with Rev. Phillip Laurie and Dr. E. H. Gebert officiating. Interment will be in Longview Memorial Park.
