Beata Armstrong Gilmore, 92, of Jacksonville died Friday, July 27, 2001, at Prairie Village Health Care Center in Jacksonville, IL.

She was born Oct. 28, 1908, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Byron and Leonora Parent Armstrong. She married Walter Gilmore in 1944 in Jacksonville; he preceded her in death in 1994.

Mrs. Gilmore was a 1931 graduate of the University of Illinois and an elementary school teacher for District 117 for 26 years. She was a member of Delta Zeta and Altar and Rosary Society, where she was the grand regent. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Our Savior and a charter member of Catholic Daughters of America.
Survived by two sons, Jack (wife, Judy) Gilmore of Carmichael, Calif., and Gregory Gilmore of Jacksonville; a daughter, Margo Gilmore of Jacksonville; two grandchildren; and a step-granddaughter.

Funeral Mass: 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Our Savior. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
