Peter Schack, an old and respected resident of this county died at his home six miles north of Cedar Rapids last Thursday. His death resulted from dropsy and was rather unexpected although he had not been enjoying good health for some time. He was about 41 years old at the time of his death and was a native of Germany. He was a member of the A.O.U.W. lodge of Cedar Rapids, and a number of members of that order attended the funeral and acted as pall bearers. The funeral was held Sunday at 12 o'clock from the residence, conducted by Rev. Streeb of the Lutheran church, of which the deceased was a member. The burial took place at the Dennison cemetery on the Bonanza.
