"Alexander Gunn, who died at his residence, 49 Boustead Avenue, yesterday, in his eighty-second year, was born at Beaverton, Ont. He was a son of John Gunn, who settled there in 1831, and was the third son in a family of nine. Mr. Gunn lived for the past fifteen years retired in Toronto. For thirty-five years previous he farmed extensively at Janesville, Minn., where he was regarded as one of the leaders in progressive farming. Mr. Gunn was a member of Erskine United Church.
Surviving are his widow and four children --- Douglas W., Toronto; Edomnd, Montreal; Mrs. Peter Henderson, Vancouver; and Walter, Mexico City. His eldest son, John, was killed in the Great War, serving with the American Army in France. Surviving also is one brother, Dr. William Gunn of Clinton, Ont., and Mrs. John Ross, of Nethy Bridge, Scotland. Interment will be made in the family plot, at the old Stone Church Cemetery, Beaverton, on Sunday, Oct. 28, at 2 p.m. The service will be held at 40 Boustead Avenue at 10 a.m. Sunday."
