BLACKWATER, Va. — Venice Victoria Bledsoe, 90, of Blackwater, Va., passed away on Monday, (March 25, 2013) at her home.

She lived most of her life in Blackwater, but was born in Purchase Ridge, Va. to the late Monroe and Oma Tomlinson Qualls.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two children, Barbara Childress and Dennis Wayne Bledsoe; seven brothers, Earnest, Ora, Bill, Odell, Larry, Bobby and Monroe Qualls Jr.; and by three sisters, Sue Bumgardner, Virginia Hubbard and Diane Neidal.

Venice was an avid gardener who loved her flowers and enjoyed her daily reading of the bible. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.

She is survived by six sons, Jack and Larry Bledsoe of Blackwater, Jim and David Bledsoe Jr., of Indiana, Sam Bledsoe of Kingsport and Ernie Bledsoe of Montana; three daughters, Ann White of Blackwater, Charlotte Childress of Kingsport and Kay Morrell of Kentucky; two brothers, Claude Qualls of Shreveport, Ind. and Kenny Qualls of Indianapolis, Ind.; four sisters, Goldie Speer of Blackwater, June Haston, Brenda Sparks and Angie Jarrett all of Indianapolis; many special grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Robinette Funeral Home.

The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Glen Hurd officiating.

The graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Bledsoe Cemetery, Blackwater. Those who wish may meet at Robinette Funeral Home by noon to travel in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kansas King, Scott Davidson, Kim Pipkin, Kobie Pipkin, Mike Bledsoe, Kevin Anderson and Craig Lawson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tom White and Chuck Speer.
