GORIN - Mrs Mary Ann was the dau of Mr Bowman, a reputable and influential citizen of Cumberland co, Ky, where she was born and brought up. In her 18th year she was united in marriage with T J Gorin, Esq, of Glasgow, Ky, with whom in 1832, they joined the Methodist Church, of which she continued a member till her death, which occurred 5 Sept 1870. She heartily co-operated with her husband in bringing up their children "in the admonition of the Lord". Her house had been the home of the itinerate preachers for 38 years - Stamper, Taylor, King, Fish, and many others, having enjoyed its elegant hospitalities. - N H Lee
