Navy during the Vietnam War. After his tour of duty was completed he and his wife Diane relocated to Orange, CA, working for Westinghouse Corp.
In 1985 Steve and his family moved to Friendswood, TX to work for Lyondell-Basil, retiring in 2012 after 27 years of service. Steve loved to laugh, play practical jokes on his unsuspecting friends and family, play golf, attending NASCAR races and deep sea fishing. Every year Steve and his fishing buddies took a trip to Cabo San Lucas, always trying for "their big catch".
Steve, Diane and friends also took two cruises a year as well as other travels throughout the United States. Steve will be remembered for his sense of humor and helpfulness doing odd jobs for family and friends. Every summer Steve drove from TX to Wallingford to help maintain his in-law's home and he managed to play several rounds of golf on local courses between chores.
Steve was a member of the Forest Bend Fire Dept. for 17 years. Preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Christine Peak, an infant sister Cindy Peake and sister Suzanne Peake. Survivors: Wife of 37 years, Diane (Davis) Peake; Daughters, Heather Page Peake of League City, TX and Meridith (Jesse) Cole of Cocoa, FL; Steve's beautiful granddaughter, Jenny-Jean Elizabeth Cole and his mother-in-law Elizabeth "Libby" Davis of Glen Mills, PA. Visitation: 11 am, Saturday, June 8, at The Concordville Inn, followed by lunch.
In lieu of flowers: the family prefers contributions be made to Forest Bend Vol. Fire Dept., 2507 W. Bay Area Blvd. Box 1509, Webster, TX 77598. Please direct your contribution for training purposes.
