Born in Tidioute, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles Maxson Freeman and Florence Parshall Freeman of Salisbury, Md.
Mrs. Campbell was the widow of the late Dr. Edgar Thrall Campbell of Hagerstown. She and her family lived at "Beavercrest," their home in Beaver Creek, for nearly 40 years.
Mrs. Campbell served on the board of the Hagerstown Women's Club, at the Turnover Shop and as an honorary member of the Women's Auxiliary to the Washington County Medical Association. She was an active member of the Hagerstown Garden Club, the Washington County Museum and the Historical Society.
Mrs. Campbell, who was always known as "Bub" to her family, is survived by her son, Stephen Campbell of Lyme, N.H.; her daughter, Sarah Campbell of Cape Elizabeth, Maine; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kristen Stansbury; her daughter, Florence C. Stansbury; sister, Sarah Long; and her brothers, Hugh Freeman, C. Maxson Freeman and Robert Freeman.
