The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 7, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Ottawa, KS. Internment will follow in the Highland Cemetery. The Family will receive friends at the church Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 5:00 pm- 7:00 pm. A memorial service in Colorado will be held at a later date.

Ed Lister was born on May 3, 1953 in Ottawa, KS to George and Charlene Lister. He graduated from Ottawa High School in 1971 and attended Kansas University, where he was a member of Delta Upsilon and the president of the KU Business Fraternity. During his studies, he served as assistant to the Executive Vice President of MoArk Flood Control from June 1972 till April 1974, and as legislative assistant to Kansas Senator Bob Dole in the summer of 1974. He graduated from KU in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in Business. He received his MBA in 1990 from the University of Colorado's Executive Program.

Ed held executive positions at various banks throughout his lifetime, beginning at the Miami County National Bank of Paola, KS. He served on the Colorado Banker's Association – Compliance Committee in 1981-1982; he also was an Institute of Banking Study Group- Compliance Instructor. At the time of his death, he was Community Market President/Senior Vice president of ANB Bank in Denver, CO.

Ed had a lifelong involvement with the Boy Scouts of America where he was an Eagle Scout, a member of the Long Peak Council Executive Board, Camping Chairman of the Twin Rivers District, and a tenure as scoutmaster of Troop 100 in Paola, KS. Colorado Governor, Roy Romer appointed him to the Coordinating Council of Housing and the Homeless in 1996, for whom he served as vice-chair. He was also a member of the Rotary International and served as the president of Thistle Community Housing and Growing Home; he also served on the boards of Thompson Valley Pre-school, St. Louis Elementary and Boulder Valley School Foundation. Ed was also an avid fisherman and loved to take his family fishing at his cabin on the Grand Mesa.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his second wife, Janell Bauer Lister, and his nephew Doug Ericsson.

He is survived by three daughters from his first marriage to Monica Walker Lister; Katie Rupe and her husband, Graham Rupe of Omaha, NE and their children, George and Gavin; Elizabeth Maxwell and her husband Tim Maxwell II of Broomfield, CO and their children, Jakob and Ashley; and Tess Lister and her boyfriend, Roy Gunderson III, of Broomfield, CO. He is also survived by his sisters, Pattie Podmajersky of Northglenn, CO and Judy Martin, and her husband Ed Martin of Overland Park, KS. He also leaves a nephew, Patrick Ericsson of Northglenn CO, and nieces, Allison Stone and her husband, Will Stone of Lawrence, KS; Lauren Martin of Overland Park, KS; and two Stepsons, Ross and Ryan Day.
