Edward Roger Gallalee Jr., 68, of Harrisonburg died Sept. 8,1993, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg. He had been ill since June.

Mr. Gallalee was born Sept. 10, 1924, in Petersburg and was a son of the late Edward R. Gallalee Sr. and Elizabeth Drewry Gallalee.

He was reared by his grandparents, Dr. "William F. and Bessie Seabury Drewry.

He attended Virginia Military Institute and then served in active duty with the U.S. Army 803rd Tank Destroyer Battalion during World War II.

After active duty, he enrolled at the University of Virginia, where he received a bachelor's degree in sociology.

Mr. Gallalee was past president of the Harrisonburg Jaycees and had worked for the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Health from 1950 to 1987.

On July 21, 1961, he married Ruby Burruss, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Edward Roger Gallalee III of Dayton; a daughter, Elizabeth Drewry Gallalee Sullivan of Shenandoah; a brother, William D. Gallalee of Richmond; and six grandchildren.

The Rev. Stuart Wood will conduct the funeral at 2 p.m. Friday at the Kyger & Trobaugh Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. Burial will be at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens near Harrisonburg.

Friends may call at the Gallalee home at any time.

Memorial donations may be made to the Grace Memorial Episcopal Church.
