Appointed 2/5/1862 Assistant Surgeon from Virginia, Partisan Army of Confederate States, to take rank on 1/4/1862, reporting to General John B. Floyd; stationed at General Hopsital, Emory & Henry College, Emory, VA.
Reassigned 4/1863 to General Hopsital, Emory & Henry College.
Reassigned 1/24/1865 to General Hopsital, Emory & Henry College.

His papers (1870-1908), compiled as a physician and pharmacist, are housed in the Virginia Historical Society, Richmond, VA. Gift of Mrs. Albert N. Jones.
