She is survived by her two daughters, Jeannie Tracy and her husband, Tom, of Waynesville, N.C., and Joyce Walton and her husband, Rusty, of Earlysville; two very special grandsons, Nicholas and Stuart Walton, Nicholas' wife, Devon and their two children, Rueben and Ali May Walton; her sisters, Grace Norris, Kathleen Chretien, Nyra Mullican and her husband, Russell, a brother, David "Jack" Crickenberger and his wife, Annie; and sisters-in-law Jane Belew, Jeanne Maupin, Libby Maupin and Marguerite Shepherd.
May Retired in 1980 from the University of Virginia Medical Center where she was a nurse for more than thirty years. She loved working outside, feeding the birds and the squirrels, fishing, reading and spending time with her family and friends. She was a very giving and loving woman who was always more than willing to do whatever she could to help others. She will be missed by everyone who knew her and her family and friends will continue to celebrate her and keep her memory in their hearts.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Holly Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Lance King officiating. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for all of the love and support shown to May over the years from her very special friends Joyce and Linwood Long, Linda Twyman, Marguerite Shepherd, and her family, all of her caring neighbors on Forest Hills Ave., Dr. David Brown and his staff, the staff and friends at the Laurels of Charlottesville and her many friends and family members.
