Lawrence Leslie Green passed away peacefully on May 30th, 2013 in Brigham City Utah. He was born May 27th, 1926 in Enterprise, Morgan Utah to John Leslie and Nessa Smith Green, the 5th of 6 children. Lawrence married Verla Meldrum in the Logan LDS Temple on May 31st, 1951. They would have been married 62 years on May 31th.
He served honorably on the USS Yorktown CV10 during WWII as an ordnanceman obtaining 6 battle stars. After returning home, he attended Utah State University obtaining a BS degree in Vocational Education with a minor in Mechanical Engineering. He taught at the State Industrial School for 1 year. He and Verla moved to Brigham City in 1952 to work for the Bureau of Indian Affairs where he was the director of vocational education until he retired.
He loved to shoot skeet, hunt and fish. He was gifted with his hands and loved woodworking and metalworking. He made his own boat that the family loved to use when visiting Lake Powell, Flaming Gorge, and Yellowstone Lake. He made many pieces of furniture that are in his home as well as his in his children's homes. He and Verla loved to travel in their motor home towing their Volkswagen beetle. After retirement they wintered in Yuma AZ.
He was a faithful active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He loved the gospel and studying the scriptures.
Lawrence is survived by his wife Verla and three children: Lawren (Nancy) Green, Brigham City, Debra (Klaus) Bienek of Evergreen Park (Huntsville), and David (Merilee) Green of Brigham City, his four grandchildren, Julie Collings, Jessica Faltinowski, Kymberlee Dirkmaat, Nicole Kelly, and his sister Amy (John) Ross. He has been blessed with 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Floyd and Earl Green, sisters Clara Oliver and Loraine Morgan, and one great grandson, Daniel Allen.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E. Brigham City, UT.
Friends may call on Tuesday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the Mortuary.
Interment will be in Brigham City Cemetery with Military Honors accorded.
