Mr. JL Crews, age 73 of Hortense, Ga. passed away at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fl., on Sunday afternoon June 2nd, 2013.
Mr. Crews was born on October 18th, 1939 in Hortense, Ga. He is the son of the late Rufus Franklin and Mary Jacobs Crews.
Mr. Crews is survived by his beloved wife, Yvonnie L. Crews; his daughters, Wanda Brown of Hortense, Jenny Weaver of St. Marys, Cindy Floyd and her husband Donnie of Blackshear, Mary Aldridge and her husband Ricky of Browntown, and Shirleen Wilson and her husband Brandt of St. Augustine, Fl.; his sister, Murialdean Miller of Callahan, Fl.; his brother, Julian Crews of St. Marys; grandchildren, Raquel Smith and her husband Chris, Angela Brannen and her husband Adam, Rachel Hernandez and her husband Dereck, Shanna Floyd, Jacob Floyd, Eric Floyd, Ashley Wynn and her husband Skyler, Brittany Eatman and her husband Doug, Erin Wilson and Rebekka Wilson; his 9 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Mr. Crews was preceded in passing by his sisters, Della Lane and her husband JW, Geneva Lane and her husband Vernon, and Daisy Crews; his brothers, Cauley Crews and his wife Sallie, Samuel D. Crews, JC Crews and Mason Crews; and his brother in law, Clarence Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday, June 6th, 2013 at St. Marys First Baptist Church on W. Weed Street with Pastor Sammy Spradley of Hortense Holiness Church presiding. Interment and committal prayers will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys, Ga.
