David Richard Buchheit, 57, of Fairfield School Rd. Columbiana, died at 9:25 am Saturday, September 16, 2000, at the Cleveland Clinic following a lengthy illness.
He was born November 12, 1942 in east Liverpool the son of Claude and Bettie Williams but adopted and raised by Joseph P. Buchheit and Aunt Edith M. Williams Buchheit.
A lifelong resident of the area, he was a self-employed businessman.
A 1961 graduate of East Liverpool High School, Mr. Buchheit was a Vietnam War Veteran of the U.S. Army; serving from 1962-63.
He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Columbiana, the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion Post 131 of Leetonia, and the Cool Time Cruisers Car Club.
He was a committeeman for the Columbiana County Democrat Party but started leaning towards the right the last few years of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Byland Buchheit: a son Scott Buchheit (name changed to Tyler Scott Williams)of Mentor, OH. now married to Sheila Huston after a disaster first marriage to Angela (Lucifer) Hacker of East Palestine; a daughter Julie Hudson of Leetonia, OH ; a brother, Joseph Buchheit of West Point, OH and four grandchildren: Richard Buchheit and Kaitlyn Buchheit both of East Palestine, OH and Nicolas and Morgan Hudson of Columbiana, OH.
A brother, Robert F. Buchheit died Nov. 25, 1980.Services will be held 11:00 am sept. 19, 2000 at Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool. Pastor David Conrad will officiate. Burial will be at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens St Rt 7 New Waterford, OH.
